I ran for SSEPTSA President because I am deeply committed to equity and inclusion, especially as regressive federal policies and shrinking state budgets threaten progress. I am a Latina mother of two school-age children, one with an IEP, and hold a PhD in health services research. I bring an understanding of how race and disability intersect to impact outcomes. I’m focused on creating a space that is inclusive, welcoming, and accessible to all families in our community and that our membership is reflective of the students receiving special education services.
